Incorporated on August 31, 1964 and licensed by the Insurance Commission on October 14 1964. WESTERN GUARANTY CORPORATION (WGC) has grown from 8 employess and 10 agents to 55 human resources, over a hundred agents and general agencies nationwide, Php 251 Million Paid-up Capital, Php 200 Million written premiums and Php 423 Million in assets. After almost half a century, WGC is now one of the largest, most credible and stable non-life insurance companies in the Philippines. WGC as certified by the Insurance Commission of the Philippines, has no pending formal & informal complaints and reputable claims settlement.
Commonwealth Insurance Company
Commonwealth Insurance Company (CIC) was established in 1935 by Don Andres Soriano, who also founded San Miguel Brewery. Now nearing its 8th decade, CIC is one of the most experienced insurers in the Philippines. CIC has now grown to be an established leader with Ps. 600 Million in pad-up capital (as certified by Insurance Commission), assets of almost Ps. 700 Million and Gross Premiums Written Yearly of almost Ps. 400 Million.
From the time the new management and owners took over, CIC had outperformed most of its competitors and still outperforming them now. It is today, one of the respected and recognized leaders in the insurance industry. CIC has been duly accredited by almost all universal, commercial, development, savings and rural banks together with leasing and financial institutions in our country. Pioneer Insurance Corporation
Pioneer’s Life operations were established in 1964 and its evolution has included a fruitful five-year joint venture with Allianz AG of Germany in the form of Pioneer Allianz. Following the joint venture in 2003, an agreement was reached to move forward as a 100 percent Filipino-owned company. Today, Pioneer Life Inc. is a significant player in the industry and continues to grow with an increasing number of Million Dollar Round Table qualifiers. It continues to break new ground and charter new territory by its entry into microinsurance. In 2010, Pioneer Life generated gross written premiums of over P1.1 billion, supported by equity of nearly P0.59 billion and managed assets of almost P4.3 billion.
Oriental Assurance Corporation
Don Gonzalo H. Cotoco, who believed so strongly in insurance that he decided to devote his whole life to it. Starting out as an agent for leading insurance companies, he went on to start his own company, Oriental Assurance Corporation on May 3, 1962, serving as its first chairman and president. Later, he was to pass on this legacy to his son, Nazario H. Cotoco, who continued to lead Oriental, inspired by his father’s strong conviction in the importance of insurance. OAC has distinguished itself as one of the major companies in the Philippine insurance market, with total assets of more than P1 billion. The company writes all lines of non-life insurance, and even offers exclusive insurance protection packages designed for clients on a highly professional level.
BPI/MS Insurance Corporation
BPI/MS is a joint venture of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), a member of the Ayala Group of Companies and one of the country's most respected banking institutions, and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, one of the largest non-life insurance companies in Japan.
